Texas artist Daniel Llanes is a versatile performer who uses his extensive knowledge of dance history and technique as a springboard for the creation of an original and exciting repertoire. The diversity of repertoire ranges from an intimate party/night-club atmosphere to a formal concert setting. This body of work which is a synthesis of ancient and contemporary forms blends global influences into a multi faceted style that personifies Southwestern American culture and has proven to have universal appeal.
Available for performance in a variety of formats, Mr. Llanes’ presentations are suitable for general public, children, or special populations.
He can perform in a formal 1 to 2 hr. concert setting (one hour for children); Feature or background for evening or brunch performances in club, restaurant or party settings; or from one song, dance or poem to a 15-40 minute set as a participant in your festival, concert or multi-faceted production.
Mr. Llanes has created compositions for the piano, guitar, flute, percussion, is a bilingual singer songwriter, and he has choreographed, staged and produced ten full-length ensemble ballets. He has appeared as a guest artist or performed with regional companies throughout the Southwest, including Ballet East, Dee McCandless of Invisible Ink, Ballet Folklorico Atzlan, Sinbad and the Talking Drums, The Dance Theater of the Southwest, Roy Lozano's Ballet Folklorico of Texas, the Houston International Festival, the Austin Dance Umbrella's "Dance Heroes", the Seattle based Light workers' Conference in Houston, and has lectured and performed at the Whole Life Expo in Austin, Texas.
